John P. Dunn LEEP AP
Principal

John has over 10 years experience in the design and construction industry managing LEED projects. John is a licensed general contractor and holds both a M.B.A. and bachelors degrees from Old Dominion University. He is both a founding and active board member of the Hampton Roads Green Building Council and frequently presents on green building topics. John has a deep commitment to sustainability and constantly strives to find innovative ways buildings can improve their ecological footprint.

The Office

Our role as a leader in sustainability intersects our practice of sustainability in our office. We strive to maintain an environment that meets or exceeds the standards of the USGBC LEED O+M rating system. Although we function under many of the guidelines for LEED O+M today, we will apply for our LEED O+M Certification shortly after relocating our offices in 2010.

Our adopted practices include the following:

• 100% Sustainable Purchasing of Consumable
• All Electronics must meet Energy Star Ratings
• 100% Green Power
• Energy Efficiency – 100% CFL or LED and Automatic Controls
• Water Efficiency - Dual Flush Toilets and Low Flow Fixtures
• Repurposed Office Furniture – Old Doors and Retail Fixtures become Desks and Tables
• Organic Matter is turned into Compost for our Home Gardens
• Recycling – Everyone has a Recycling bin but there is only One “Trash” Can
• And More…
